For purposes of the facility master planning process, the Long Beach Unified School District was divided into seven planning areas.  The planning areas were comprised of 6 high school attendance boundaries and Catalina Island. A planning committee representing parents, teachers, administrators and community representatives of all schools located within each high school attendance boundary was formed. 

Each planning area committee was responsible for meeting to review and analyze information, and assist with retaining input from the broader community, and helping to finalize recommendations for their planning area.
